Any toothpaste without Floride?

Shawn

Lifer
Every toothpaste I use I have a small allergic reaction to. My throat always gets real tight after I brush my teeth and usually stays that way for an hour or two. It makes me avoid brushing my teeth for as long as I can. I usually just brush w/o any toothpaste. Well after looking at all the different toothpastes they all have the same ingredent in common.... floride. So I'm thinking that I may be allergic to floride. Is there any toothpastes made w/o it?

You have never had a floride treatment at the dentist?

I think that those "all natural" toothpastes that you can find at health nut stores may be your best bet, I think some of them are made without flouride. However they do taste like ass, so...

Wait - most water supplies add fluoride to their water - are you sure it's fluoride that you're allergic to? Most toothpaste has some sort of sweetener added- mostly asphartame... Maybe you're allergic to that (a common allergy, actually).. Try checking with an allergist and then getting a fluoride free toothpaste from a healthfood store (they have MANY varieties).. Most taste like ass but who really cares? Some may use splenda if you want it to taste more like regular toothpaste... After using fluoride free toothpaste for a while I switched back to the real stuff - my teeth felt grittier and were turning brown.. Of course, anything is better than just avoiding to brush..

Hmm... didn't know toothpaste had asphartame in it. I dunno if I'm allergic to to but anytime I eat food with asphartame I get a severe headache. So maybe....

Isn't tap water fluoridated in the US? I'm pretty sure it is here in Canada.

yup, sure is. turns your teeth brown if you get too much of it

I used some of that natural toothpaste once. It tasted so horrible that I gagged. My eyes were watering and I could not get rid of the taste 🙁

I use Rembrandt because of the absense of sweetener and that chemical that also comes in shampoo that is know to causes or worsen kanker sores, I forgot what it's called. I think it still has flouride though. I don't get it at the dentist because it makes me sick.
