Any Tips on packaging a CPU for shipping?

Any Tips on packaging a CPU for shipping?

i put it into a antistatic bag..and im puting it inbetween 2 peices of foam wich fill intire box...is that ok?

If that is a Thunderbird or Duron, you may want to re-enforce the box with a wooden frame. The slightest flex will snap that core into two neat peices with a few miligrams of fine silicon powder.

chiwawa626: You should be fine with that. Ideally, I like to put the pins into a brick of anti-static foam, but this should be more than adequate.

Information: I work for Intel and I have to admit that you are starting to annoy me despite the fact that you don't have a good word to say about our primary competitor. What you have posted didn't answer the question and instead contained something utterly preposterous. AMD's products certainly will not break at the "slightest flex", nor will any other packaged component that I can think of by any company.

edit: a slotted Pentium II should be more than ok like that. My reference to the pins was for socketed CPU's.
