Any tips on how to drift in Test Drive Unlimited?

I'm using a steering wheel with sensitivity turned all the way up. Can't seem to get the rear sliding. If I use the parking brake the car just spins out. I heard once you get hardcore mode drifting is easy. So what am I doing wrong?

Are you experiencing occasional or frequent stuttering/freezing in this game with your steering wheel?

I've read it occurs when using FF steering wheels, or possibly FF devices in general. I think a lot of the posts on the TDU forum with similar symptoms are because they are running it on a computer that is way too slow anyway. But it seems like FF steering wheels caused that regardless of your computer. If it runs at 40-60+ fps most of the time but has odd points where it almost entirely freezes (0-5 fps maybe) that seem to have nothing to do with the amount of onscreen action, that seems to be a confirmed FF wheel problem with this game. I'm just wondering if you are getting it too. The recent patch that FINALLY came out after being delayed for months made no mention in the changelog about the problem.

I had that problem in TOCA3. It ran perfectly fine most of the time, but fairly often it would freeze more or less for a couple of seconds then resume. It only happened when I used my FF steering wheel (Act-labs Force RS), not with my 360 pad. I'm not sure if the latest patches have fixed that or not, but earlier ones didn't. The solution was to set or use a shortcut to run TOCA3.exe in High priority mode, and all stuttering/freezing went away with FF wheels. I'm told that didn't work for TDU, and the solution on the forums for TDU is to completely DISABLE force feedback through the registry. Nice fix...

I didnt know this was out on the PC.
Sad, I only liked a handful of xbox 360 games so far and they are all out or coming out for Windows soon.

Will have to investigate this. One of the few car games I like enough to go buy a steering wheel.

IMO the PC version is superior, if you have the right HW. Plus it cost half the price of the 360 version.

NECROMANCER!
I resurrect at will.

Anyway, I did get the Windows version and it rocks. Also paid 10 bucks for the add-on that comes with a buttload of sweet cars.
Still no Porches or BMW's but plenty of other good rides.

I FINALLY made a map of all the Transport and Courier mission points. This may seem minor but for those of you who played it you know they are hard to find and can only be done once, then they vanish from the map.

Sorry about the size. FRAPS wont let me take screenies in 2048x1536. I did it at 1600x1200, but after cropping out all the BS it left me with a very small image.

I tried to upload to GameFAQS but they are having problems.
Yes, I know this is two years late, but I never felt like making a map for something until now. Especially because they already have quite a few maps for this game on the internet.

Unrelated:
There are rumors of a TDU 2 floating around.

Dude you're awesome, I have always wanted a map for the those pesky hard to find missions. I love TDU, finished it twice and thinking about the third time. I do hope TDU 2 comes out soon.
