catch 22..... ugh i want to go so bad.

anyways i've never had to do this before, what should i do? ask the box office if they have extra tickets? go around asking people if they have extras?

alternative is to see if you know any employees of the venue that might be able to hook you up with non-publicly available tix.

Yeah, scalpers if you don't want to go the ebay route. I've only dealt w/ a scalper in person once and I ended up trading my tickets and some cash for his 3rd row seats. Made the show so awesome.

for every popular event there are always people buying and selling extra tickets outside the venue - you just have to find them and be patient - the longer you wait, the cheaper the tickets will be (they obviously have a time value) so don't try to buy 30 mins before it starts unless you wanna pay thru the nose.

ah that sounds like sound advice... thanks!

yea ebay and classads won't work because the concert is in 3 hours 😛

You can always try emailing the band or label. I know sometimes they have extra tickets on their lists that they don't give out. They really put on a great show though so it is worth it.

What you do, is you wait to the last minute and go to the concert, if you go later, the scalpers will be desperate to dump their tickets.
Cake to pick one up for half price.

After reading this thread I though to myself how do scalpers make so much money? They must have left over tickets all the time so how do they still make some profit? Do they just get the tickets real cheap because they buy in bulk?

Just stand outside for people selling extras, and check the box office when they open; often times a number of extra tickets are released before the show.

It depends on the show, and whether or not it is sold out. There aren't too many professional scalpers for rock shows. Sporting events are something else though. People going to rock shows commonly buy a couple of extra tickets in hopes that the show will sell out and they can make some money back. They figure if they can sell the tickets for at least face value, they will be OK.

Phone the venue or the agency (ask for the manager) of the artist, explain the situation, and ask whether there is any chance of getting on the guest list. Don't whine though.

It would help if you can get a female friend to do the call 🙂
