Any thoughts on what to put in thank you letter for scholarship?

My fiance was awarded a scholarship from a private funder for her tuition for Pharmacy School. She needs to write a thank you letter to the president of the company that provided the scholarship, and present it to them at the awarding ceremony.

Both of us are terrible with thank you cards, especially with scholarship ones since we haven't had to do any such thing in the past.

I figured I'd run it by the collective brainpower of ATOT since I figured they're be quite a few of you out there who have been in a similar situation in the past. We're both pretty humble people, so take that into consideration

How was she selected? Was it a competition, they pulled her name out of a hat, or what? Did she apply, or was it a surprise?
How much of the cost does it cover?
What kind of business is the company in (the one that awarded her the scholarship)?

Was selected out of her class based upon grades, activities, and work experience. It was a surprise. Received the award letter in the mail yesterday.

How much of the cost does it cover?
Roughly 10% of tuition.

What kind of business is the company in (the one that awarded her the scholarship)?
Can't remember specifically off the top of my head. It was some sort of insurance company that had a role in the Pharmacy industry. Actual name/title slips my mind though. Half to verify that later today.

I was thrilled and honored to learn that ABC Company selected me for a scholarship to the Smallville Pharmacy School. Thank you so much for your generosity.

I have been very pleased with my choice to attend Smallville, as the faculty, staff and facilities are first-rate. That's actually a nice letter kranky, though some substitution should occur. I prefer thong pics myself.
