I did a search and all I could find was one review that stated the board was unstable and a low end product...that was in september of last year though....

anyone actually have this microATX board and can comment on its stability? I'm building a new system for my girlfriend and just need a stable performer. Thanks!

If you want stable and DDR with Socket A, look for something like the Aopen MK7A. I used one in my wife's machine, no problems in almost a year.

duuuma,

For another CT-7SID review: OCWorkbench

You can also check out the "Chaintech" section of the Forums at www.ocworkbench............

I like the CT-7SID, it's a fast board ............. but can be picky about psu and memory, ............. same as other SiS-735 mb's!

thanks for the tips...

clumsum -- I plan on using pc2100 Crucial 128mb with an Enlight 300w psu....will that be good enough and what do you use on this board?

That depends. If memory serves me, that PS was rated (on the now defunct AMD Recommend PS pages) UP TO an AMD 1.2 GHz, maybe less though. If you are using a Duron or lower rated Athlon; no problem. It might cause some trouble if you are planning to go higher. MIGHT is the operative word here though. YM may definately vary!

Well I plan on using a Duron 950mhz with the 300w ps, so hopefully no problems will arise. What are you running on your CT7SID?

You may have me confused with the "other guy" in this thread; clumsum. I am basing my knowledge on some extensive building experience with MB's using the SIS 735 chipset; specifically the K7S5A.
BTW, you should be OK with what you mention.

Hello ...... Buz 2b, ...... you are a handsome fellow, and since we look alike ....... well I must be handsome too?;-)

duuuma,

I am using an Enhance Model ATX1125BTA 300W psu for my 1.4G. Athlon cpu equipped CT-7SID.
I recently sold a spare 7SID mb to a very knowledgable friend, who returned it in several days and said it would not post and seemed to be a bad board!
I took it home and hooked up the bare essentials .......... PC2100 MicronDDR memory, 800Mhz Duron cpu, Matrox G450 agp & a 300W psu ............ well, it posted first try!
I called and asked what psu he was using when he had the board and he said ........"a 250W Enermax"!

I would recommend an Enhance, Sparkle, Antec, Enermax or any other high-quality 300W (or higher) psu ....... the higher the wattage rating of the +3V and +5V rail combined ........ (200W or higher if available) .......... the better ......... !
My favorite budget model would be the Enhance Model 0730 300W unit from NewEgg.com or Directron ............ but you may do better locally?

Listen to Buz 2b ..... he is giving you good information ........ !

Got a heck of a good laugh out of that!! Thanks! :D
I'd give my vote for the Sparkle 300 watt also. It has good numbers and I have used it on the K7S5A (SIS 735) more than once with absolutely no trouble. Great minds think alike. :D:D;)
