I picked up a Asus M4A79 Deluxe board yesterday (replacing a MATX variant that was used for a temp solution) and I am wondering if any of you on these forums are using it. If you are what do you think of the board, any advice to give? Looking thru the bios options there's alot in there that I am not totally familiar with.. and I can't seem to find any guides with suggestions on how to set it up for optimal performance. I am using a 920 cpu which has been able to hit about 3.5GHZ stable on the old board but didn't allow for adjustments to the NB frequency.

It's a bit of a overkill board for me .. but at some point I'd like to check out some crossfire options and I figured what the hell, since it's going to be my last DDR2 board I thought I'd treat myself and get something a little more fancy :)

Well, While I do like the board I decided to take it back and went with a whole kit (i7 920, 6G DDR3, and a Gigabyte X58 board)

While I don't recommend others go out and do that .. I figured shoot .. I am already buying a costly DDR2 board that's roughly the same price as the x58 board I was looking at so why not. I have a home for the PII 920 kit (matx board 4G of DDR2) at the end of the month so it wouldn't be a bad trade off.

For those considering the i7 920 .. it's ok .. I'd not be jealous tho if you already own a competent Quad core setup tho, as it's not going going to have you swinging from any chandeliers with the extra performance.

Anyway I was wondering about the tweaking options on the 790FX board and now I am totally lost on the Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD3R ... go figure... Well I wanted a new toy so lol..... I guess i have one.
