Feel free to share your thoughts or observations on lcd monitors here in this thread, what grypes or likes do you have, which models you prefer etc

Aiya - Im posting here as it doesnt seem the private messaging is working in my library pc.Hi there 🙂

I went for the vg150 as my first lcd 15". It was cheap and available as in the hot deals forum. I do like samsung lcds. Both the 150mp and the same in 17" I liked alot because of their brightness and integrated features. However, a digital input is an absolute requirement for my next lcd monitor, and in this regard a cheap second consideration is either a dell 15103 or an ibm t55d (or t54d), as both are readily available from eay or ubid around min price $400 (dell), $350 (ibm). I saw at first hand the whole range of NEC's, and dismissed them in favor of samsungs or IBM's. if you could stomach a cheap refurbished NEC, then tigerdirect has some from $350-$399. As the prices fall for 17-18" monitors, I will probably be looking to buy the 1600SW SGI or a dell or IBM. I will be monitoring the prices of these monitors closely over the next few weeks with a view to be buying shortly.

Two twinned 15" lcds vs 1 17-18" monitor are an excellent idea and give you the equivalent of a 30" workspace. I havent been attracted to Princeton graphics or Eizo simply because I havent physically seen them. For me that is the acid test.
