I have orderered/recieved all of the following stuff.

From Staples:

Maxtor 80 gb w/8mb cache
Logitech Access Keyboard
Logitech MX300 Mouse
Antec SLK3700 with 350w smartpower

Total Cost: $158.54

From Crucial.com

512 mb PC2700 - Cost $ 48.7

Gonna place the final order from newegg tomorrow. What else do i need? Here is my current Newegg list.

Epox 8rga+ with onboard sound and video
barton 2500+ retail
Lite on 48x/ dvd combo drive

Total Cost(before tax): $267

I am going to wait for a good deal on a monitor (july 4th details).

Is there anythign else i need to order from newegg like a case fan or something. slk3700 has one rear 120mm fan and an extension on the front for another 120 mm fan. I will not be overclocking. just building a budget pc. Thx for ur help

as Vonkhan said floppy, NIC, OS but you may already have these,

looks good, have fun putting your new system together, and the 1
120mm fan should draw enough air through.

Welcome to the forums BTW

HS/fan is included with the retail CPU.
Case fans are good. Check out SVC for those; Newegg will probably charge $5 to ship a $4 fan, and $5 more for each additional one. SVC is more reasonable with shipping, plus they've got some good fans. Get ball bearing fans though, or Panaflo's hydrowave bearing fans.

You'll also want some RAM to go with that. Get two sticks to use the nForce2's dual channel mode. If you want to splurge, go for 2 sticks of 512MB PC3200 RAM; the $73-a-stick Geil has done well for me. Otherwise, two sticks of 256MB PC3200 should do fine. Or PC2700 if you only plan on running a 166MHz bus. Bear in mind that the onboard video will want a chunk of your system RAM.

Gonna use retail hsf as jeff7 said. not overclocking so i dont think i really need to get a better hsf.

i am gonna go with a single stck for now. Will get another one later once i get more money.

btw i am upgrading from a 733 celeron with 192 pc 100 and onboard intel extreme graphics.

it would still be a "big" upgrade even though i am not getting top of the line stuff.
