Any Tall people (>6'3") own or drive a jeep wrangler

I am looking for a new car to replace my aging and not currently running dodge ramcharger.

I am looking at a Mid-late 90's wrangler, most likely an automatic.

I was wondering if anyone around my height (6'5") with 32 or longer length legs has driven a wrangler on regular basis.

The last wrangler I drove on a regular basis was a 92, which was before the interior design change, and I was wondering if anything has changed signifigcantly in terms of drivers leg room since then.

I cannot simply go to a dealership and check out a wrangler myself, since I have no vehicle, and the roads are so bad around here currently that none of my friends want to drive.

So i turn to AT for help, please dont flame me, I am simply looking for some answers.

I have been told that those things BLOW in the cold... everything you don't like about a convertable in the winter++

I owned a 93 (YJ) and now a 99 (TJ) and honestly I don't recall there being a big difference. I am 5'11 though so I fit about right in almost anything.

I think I have heard of people modifying the seat rails/mounts to accomodate them, so my guess is that it's survivable but not necessarily comfortable.

Edit: Considering there is "nothing" inside, it has a surprising lack of room in all dimensions. I still say it's an awesome 2nd car but a lousy daily driver. If you are looking for reliable, easy to work on, etc, you might want to consider a Cherokee instead. Mechanically similar but a lot nicer inside in the winter, as ace pointed out.

Remember there is an extended Wrangler available now. That might help. I am 6'5" but have never driven a Wrangler.

It warms up quickly, probably faster than any other vehicle I have ever been in.

Regarding height. I know many tall people with TJs and none have had any issues. Hey, if you want, you could buy mine.

I am a student that does not want car payments...so it is looking liek I am going used.

As for the heat issue, I plan on having both tops.

I have a friend that drives a 91 Wrangler. He's 6'3, and fairly built. He tells me he fits comfortably.

Thats a possibility i suppose. You have some specs, pics and a general asking price?

If the deal is good enough it might be worth the flight out to michigan and the drive back
