Any suggestions on getting Ghost to clone to an external drive?

Hoping someone might have some suggestions here. I am trying to clone to an external USB HDD. The drive works fine by itself in Windows XP. When I try to clone to it Ghost recognizes it fine and goes through the Windows portion fine. It reboots the computer and locks on the starting Ghost screen forcing a reboot. I tried setting USB 2.0 drivers but then it just freezes at the driver screen instead.

Is there some trick to getting Ghost to clone to an external drive that anyone can suggest?

Oh BTW, the version is Ghost 2003.

i never have any luck burning directly to usb or dvd / cd.
i always just ghost to another partition or hard drive, i dunno if this is feesible for you or if you have the space capacity. i'm not sure how large your target ghost file.

anyhow, i'll google and ask around. another lazy sunday bump.

And that is another reason why I use Acronis' TrueImage 9. It handles all externals - Firewire, USB, SATA, you name it.
