I just bought a new computer:

ATI Radeon HD 5970
12gb of Ram
i7 980x 6-core processor
GA-X58A-UD7 motherboard

and Im wondering if anyone has any suggestions on some badass games I should get, I am really looking for some great graphics/gameplay

Update: I'm not sure exactly what you mean by gameplay preferences, I mean as long as the computer can run it and its a fun game thats all i need. And I havnt really ever pc gamed so its all pretty new, although I have played oblvion, fallout, and bioshock1 on console.

A list of preferences in gameplay would be nice, and how long you've been out of (new) pc gaming.

Crysis- Decent fps game with great graphics
Cryostasis- Just played this fps because it was cheap, pretty cool story telling and good graphics
Oblivion- Open world sandboxy rpg, found it pretty fun until actually doing the main story. might want to try some mods like Oblivion Overhaul (OOO)
Borderlands- supposed to be an ok fps/rpg. probably plays like d2/titan quest except with guns
Torchlight- plays like d2/titan quest, no multiplayer though.
Fallout 3- sandboxy rpg, post apocalyptic
Bioshock/Bioshock 2- RPG/FPS pretty standard fps, except for the rpg elements. plays sort of like system shock 1/2, but still not quite as good imo
Supreme Commander- plays like Total Annihilation, strategy game. Decent strategy game for building massive bases/armies
Fear/Fear2- "horror" fps game, pretty fun.

Dragon Age and Mass Effect 2 would be a good fit for you. They are two different takes on a RPG game, but both very good.

Going back to a PC classic, Deus Ex would be a great game to try out - if you can deal with the dated graphics.

Yeah idk bad graphics make me nautious 2, but some games are deffinantly worth playing. Ill check out the games you guys said 🙂 thanks again

If anyone can think of anything else thats worth playing please let me know!

Here is a FREE kick-ass online multiplayer game. It's first-rate and lots of fun. This is a melee-fighting style FPS that also has some RTS and RPG types of elements to it. It also has an active player community with an active discussion forum and IRC channel. At one point the game had clan activity and some of the clans are still around:

What I like about it is that I can find full servers--15 v 15 (and up) 24/7. It's great if you're looking to play something for 1/2 an hour. This isn't a crappy flash MMORPG, it's a bona fide game that you download just as though you had purchased a DVD. (In fact, at one time it was sold in a box on a DVD I think.)

Did I mention that the full game is FREE? You can download it and play it for free! These developers seem to care about online multiplayer!!! and they are planning to patch this game soon to dramatically improve the online multiplayer community aspects.

I think the developers are hoping that people will purchase "Prime" accounts for $10 which adds a little bit to what you can do but is far from being a necessity. (Instead of carrying only 4 items you can carry 6 and you can spawn powerful hellbourne units if you have killed enough opponents--that's situational and far from being a requirement to contribute to your team and have fun.) I've been playing this for a few months and I haven't purchased a Prime account yet, so you can enjoy it for free. The other purpose might be to garner publicity for their new game Heroes of Newerth (which is supposed to be like DOTA).
