So-so nightlife, vs. Miami. I'm not the clubbing type, but I hear there are a couple clubs. I know that Ft. Lauderdale is an extremely nice place to visit, not sure about living there.

I'm a bit North of there. From everything I've read/heard Ft.Laud / Miami is the most active of all the S.FL locations for nightlife. I can't make any recommendations as I'm old and married and hermit like. :D

BTW, Nice Screename NFM.

Welcome to the area!!

My favorite place to go at night is down near Riverfront, the historic district that runs parralel to Riverfront is CRAZY some nights (thurs, friday, sat), like 10 clubs/bars in a row, no covers.....

Are you moving to Ft. Lauderdale or a suburb?

Im from Coral Springs (about 15-20 minutes northwest of Ft. Lauderdale)

Much for South Florida is fairly boring once you've been here a while. There's plenty to go see and do. Near Riverfront, there's always the Broward Center of the Performing Arts, they got good shows there sometimes, the Museum of Discovery and Science.

A few nice bars in and around Riverfront. Also, if you ever want to go further south, there's South Beach that be main spot. Also, on Ft Lauderdale beach there's Beach Place. They got a few nice bars there, but it's like an outdoor mall that has a nice night scene. The beach is pretty slick too. Good luck, and welcome. Just make sure you don't end up living in the ghetto. Maybe live just north like North Lauderdale, Tamarac, Coral Springs with aphex, Margate...that area is fairly nice. Or live south of Ft Luaderdale in Hollywood area...that's equally nice but lightly more expensive in some parts.
