On Win2k, I would like a good program that i can create drum loops with to import into pro tools. Even better if theres a free demo. Any suggestions???

Doesn't Pro Tools have a sampler? Are you using the free version?

I've tried some shareware versions and didn't find any that I liked. Then again I'm not proficient with using music software so maybe I wasn't doing it correctly.

Sampled drums never sound good...analogue drum machines rock...:D
I rarely use some sampled breakloops...
Normally I design the loops with a sequencer like Logic Audio, the samples come out of my soundcards ram...
For stand-alone tools look at propellerheads product palette...

Propellerhead Recycle 2.0 is their current loop editor...check it out here

EDIT: Demo is limited to the samples supplied with the demo...:(
But perhaps there is a little modification out there...somewhere...;)

propellerheads, eh?

not looking for anything super hi-end, by any stretch of the imagination. just something to mess with, and use. lo-fi is cool with me.

Try a program called Sequbeat. It is pretty basic and free. Not sure if it works in Win2K
