0roo0roo, if you want the "best" possible reception from "rabbit ears." I'd suggest the TERK model as IIRC, they plug into your AC outlet and amplify over-the-air signals :)

Like Zim said, get the ones that requires an AC outlet. They actually don't have to be 'rabbit' ears, i've seen ones that were rectangular box, that just sat ontop of the TV... they didn't have an antenna or anything.

the 49 dollar terk isn't rabbit ear like, its like a giant side ways 8 thing.

and yea, rabbit ears not good, for this location near a door, would get in the way. rabbit ears are damned cheap though. but since the rabbit ears on the old set have sh*t for reception, i figure they don't work well there.

is there a particular brand thats best? one to stay away from? buying this kinda stuff is almost blind:(

Well, you can talk to a Radio Shack employee... but it's luck of the draw whether they actually know what they're talking about (and they have a good return policy anyways).
