Any suggestions for a fun NWN2 build

I've played nwn2 when it first game out (as a cleric and a warrior thief). I picked up the expansion so I want to play through once more and then go into the expansion.

Any suggestions for a fun build? Vaguely i remember that the companions are heavy in fighters/mages-sor type but I forget the details (been that long since I played).

I started briefly last night as a sor. but it wasn't that much fun (esp at level 2) and per comment above not sure that is a decent path to go. I was sort of thinking of doing a cleric again (though i did do that once before so maybe something new?) . Does not have to be a super duper power twink build but something that will not have too many headachs and slightly more interesting than a brute force warrior (maybe something with rogue since detect trap users/pick lock is not common companion - though i'm not sure if i need those skills in the expansion)

Any suggestions? (Also should I install the expansion first - will that provide options for a more interesting build?)

Are monks interesting? Or are they like warriror where you just rush in fight and that's it ?

Go for a planetouched bard or thief. Super fun to roleplay, if you are into getting 'into' your character :D

Another fun thing is to be a necro and then go pale master.

And install the expansion first. I don't know if it adds anything to the original campaign, but it contains the most recent updates.

I meant should I install the expansion to take advantages of new classes prior to replaying the original ....

BUMP!!

Monks arent nearly as cool in 3rd edition as they were AD&D, but still fun to play.

A good idea for a powerful class is to put one or two levels into fighter or ranger and then all the rest into sorcerer or wizard.
Same with having one level in rogue and then 19 in any other class. They get to deal with more powerful locks and traps by virtue of being rogues.

It can also be fun to challenge yourself with an unsual class combo or race combo, like half-orc wizards or gnome barbarians. One of the big advantages of 3rd edition is you can do stuff like that. AD&D simply wouldnt let you make most combos.

I do not know of the expansion is this way, but I really wish that the dialog was altered somewhat more depending on which race you chose (IE tougher reactions to drow, teiflings, etc.)

It is. There were multiple tiefling reactions that I got playing through the campaign, especially when I was with Neeshka.

I just started playing, and don't know D&D.

Did a cleric with high str and wisdom. Specializes in spear. Picked up monkey grip, so I can use a spear/shield, and have both offensive (debuff, inflict) and defensive (buff, heal) spells.

So I can run in and dish it out, or hang back and heal wounded.

I'll probably do either Warpriest or Divine Champion when qualified.

Dunno if I should pick a 2nd class though.

Is there an easy way to fix these issues?
1. I swap characters and the computer automatically changes their weapons in mid fight
2. If I put loot on a character, they'll use it in combat, though I wasn't wanting them to use it...
3. I switch characters and my main char starts casting all sorts of stuff. I just want her to continue whacking with that spear
4. When I move the mouse to the edge of the screen and I move the camera, it pans back to the character as soon as I release the mouse. I want to the camera to stay where I let go

1) Yes - use hot bar - you can drag weapon/shield or weapon/weapon (for two handed) to hot bar
2) You can adjust ai setting per character
3) same as 2
4) can't help - not in love with the camera but havent't really tried to adjust the various options for camera (there are quite a few)

Sound's like Tony K's AI package. Either uninstall it or tweak the per-character settings.

Ah, forgot that was installed. Well I guess it's doing its job :)

I'll just tweak it some, thanks
