Any Suggestion on Cd-Rom drives?

I am interested in buying a CD-Rom drive and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestion to make on which CD-Rom is the best to buy. I want speed and realiablity. Thank you very much.

The Asus CD-S520 goes for around $30 and is very quiet, fast, and reliable. The Plextor UltraPlex 40Max is very fast, moderately quiet, reliable, and has the best DAE features of any drive (returns the most correct C2 errors). But DVD drives have gotten very good at CDROM reading, and I would recommend the Lite-On LTD-163. It's very fast, moderately quiet, reliable, and goes for around $35.

As the prices suggest, these are now "commodity" items.

Any 48X to 52X drive will do fine.

A bit more money buys a CDR, a better buy, imho.
