I will be getting this board (ABIT IC7-G)with 2.4C or 2.6C . Any problems overclocking with this setup
Kingston Hyper X 1G B( 512 x2) or Corsair 1GB DDR 400. I read lots of problems with the old Bios so I should update the Bios first and stay away from Kingston .

I would like to spend around $350 for the board/CPU , if P4 is not the way to go then which board/CPU will be good with AMD.

Here's a bump for you til one of the intel fans pop by (your question may be good to post in the overclocking section too). Anyway, as far as AMD the Barton 2500+, an Nforce2 chipset mobo (ex. abit NF7-S) and some good PC3200 ram is a pretty good way to go these days. Prolly best bang for the buck.

For 90 bucks and 220 or so you could get an ECS 755A and an athlon 64 3000+ 512 at newegg. The MSI NEO's got a 20 dollar rebate, or did and was marked at 126.

I was just wondering if it's worth buying P4 with HT and 800 Mhz FSB. Will I notice a lot of difference when playing games , using Photoshop. But with AMD can FSB (333) be overclocked which I might or not do to 400 .

I bought the MSI K8T Neo ($106 AFMIR) and retail A64 3000 ($240) at newegg, smooth setup, P4 3.2 speed right out of the box. (with the added bonus of not supporting Intel's monopoloy anymore)

Hehe, so did I. I wanted connectors for more drives than the ECS provides.
