Any stock-traders or day-traders in here?

I am working on a project for a class I am taking that involves writing my own application that will run against MB Trading's software. The application is for the most part, supposed to automate day-trading.

First off, does anyone have any experience with MB Trading?

Otherwise the more general question of day trading strategies. I dont need to make money for this project, I just need to show some kind of feasible model. Should i be looking at things like volumes and closing prices? I am not really sure where to look, and i dont really have a strong backround in stock trading.

Any help would be appreciated.
