I dont know if this is the right forum to talk about this, but this is "off topic", so here I go.
I came to US many years ago from Ukraine and I'm 24 right now. I used to be an avid stamp collector back in Ukraine. Started by removing stamps from envelopes with hot water, then moved to buying stamps from philatellic stores, and my hobby went on from there. Later in life, I got my brother's big stamp collection, since he stopped collectiong for some reason and moved away to Germany. (dont ask)
When I came to US, my hobby died, because of my lack of english, friends and knowlege where I can get stamps or stamp albums in US. First I assumed that no one collects stamps in America, since the only stamps I saw were ones you get from the post office. I never heared of anyone collecting stamps, and havent met a single person who's interested in this in all my years here. I later discovered that I was dead wrong in my assumptions, and noticed that there are online stores that sell philatellic supplies. However I feel like a moran, because when I browse through online stores, I cant find empty stamp albums with hinges for sale. I dont need anything fancy, just a regular album that I can use to arrange my collection that has been sitting all these years in a box.
All I see in online stores is some wierd expencive albums that I dont even need. It seems they are not even empty and probably contain stamps.. I dont need that.
Can someone help me and give me a link where I can buy what I need? I'd also like a link to some decent philatellic forums where I can talk with like minded people. If this bears any relevance, I live in Brooklyn, NY. (Havent seen a single philatellic store here by the way)

i've seen some philatellic stores in chinatown

to clarify, it's in chinatown's elizabeth center. to get there, take the M/J/N/Q/R/W/6 train to canal street, then walk to elizabeth street. the store is somewhere in the basement of that building. however, i doubt it'd be that cheap and i don't know if the store still exists. good luck.
