Any solution yet for passing both audio and video over HDMI from a PC?

Thinking about hooking my plasma up to a MCE PC about 20ft away. Would love to run only one cable. Are there any solutions for running both audio/video over HDMI yet? I see video cards with HDMI plus, I assume they only are using the video portion?

k, thx.

Such viddy cards sport audio connections too but usually at a premium. May as well just use a bog common DVI card (optionally with HDCP) and endure the unsightly tangled mess of a second cable for audio. Fasten them together with the method of your choice (zip tie, tape, velcro, &c.) and you can pretend they are one cable! Better still, ensconce them in wire loom to enhance the illusion! :p

Unfortunately, not all TVs will accept video over HDMI and audio over analog cables.

Instead, I went with component cables, they're cheaper anyway.

I was thinking more like DVI (with or without HDMI adapter) to TV and coaxial SPDIF to receiver.

Well, that works if you have a surround sound system, I suppose.

And you're right, those HDMI cards are expensive. Slow too, nothing above midrange, guess they're targeted at home theater pcs.
