Any software to manually control mobile CPU speed?

I'm using a Compaq Presario 715US using a Mobile Athlon 4 1.2GHz. I know the machine and Windows support PowerNow technology from AMD. Is there a software I can use to manually control the CPU speed? I just use the computer for word processing and Internet so I would like to get the speed down to 400-500MHz at ALL time. That way, I can save my battery.

Also...you could also do something more riskier and get Clockgen and underclock your processor to 400 mhz.

Now that I've finished writing this post, I have realized that this isnt a really good idea. 🙂
Get SpeedSwitchXP.
