Don't use IE. That's the best all around advice I'd give anyone. Check out the Opera browser if speed is what you're looking for. I tried downloading the demo a long time ago but it would only let you look at their website which was lame. Now they made it a banner browser so if you don't pay for it, there will be banners at the top. It's so worth the speed though. Finally a browser that isn't going to try and display webpages, check email, check newsgroups, be an address and date book, reorganize your desktop, help you with searches, take out the trash, bathe your dog, solve world hunger, and whatever else IE tries to do that makes it so freaking huge and slow. Netscape was my browser forever, but Netscape 6 seems slow to me too. If you go with microsoft don't expect speed, reliability, or control.
