Anyone know of any software for direct downloading of links, such as a media file?

I used to use the iGet extension for Firefox, but it doesn't work for Firefox 1.5.

For instance, I have the link http://www. example.com/media.mov, I want to save that file to a folder rather than view it in my browser or search for it in my tmp files...

HTTPwatch is good for IE on the PC. It's not quite the same as iGet but it let's you see the real url of a file so you can make the download.
It's downloadable as a trial

If you have anything but windows (OSX, Linux, Unix) you already have wget installed. If you are using windows you should be able to find a port of it on the web somewhere.

lol I just found out that you can go to google, put the url in the search box and it'll come up clickable, so you can just "save as..."

too funny.

Also, downloadthemall for FireFox does this, too.

Thanks, all!
