Any Snort users out there ?

Hello. I'm looking for a Snort user to point me in the right direction. I'm trying to deploy Snort on a small home network. I'd like to see a simple rules file. The docs are a bit technical and verbose. If anyone can post a simple Snort rules file, I'd appreciate it. Thank you.

Easiest way to get into is this:

snort/acid/with GUI rolled into 1 for Windows

I just deployed it yesterday in my office. Pretty nice. Have to spend some time learning to use i tho, but this seems the easiest way to get into it.
