Any smart people around here?

Need help from all of you Humanities and Social Science people around here. I'm writing a paper, and there is this one word, that would perfectly fit in, but I can't quite recall it. The word describes historians or people who judge the past based on the moral laws of the present. Now, I think the word is Wiggish historians, but can somebody confirm this.
