I tried a couple of times two summers ago...What a trip. Almost got killed once by some strong upper level winds.

I did a tandem jump once in New Zealand a couple of years ago. It was awesome, I want to do it again around here (San Francisco Bay Area) and maybe get certified to jump by myself.

I logged 5 AFF before I ran out of $$ to keep going. What a rush though. Everyone should try it at least once.

Yep....went one time (my sister organized a one day checkout, followed by a jump from 3000 feet) it was a blast!

For kicks, I prefer going fast on most any fire breathing motor vehicle..:)

Yeah. 79 jumps. All while in the military (US Army - Infantry). Went through jump school (Ft. Benning, GA), then was assigned to the 101st. Also did Air Assualt school - rappeling, sling loading, etc.

Highest jump: 17,500. A few mass exits out of C-130s and C-141s as well. I haven't jumped since 1983 though. I miss it. Mucho fun! :)

Most of my jumps were with military chutes. -1Bs at the time. You descend pretty fast (~9 ft/sec). No one flared these babies, they're just round chutes with louvers for manuevering, if you could call it that. You just jumped, PLFd, repacked, and did it again.

I plan on going this summer here doing a tandem jump from around 12,000 feet. Should be fun.
