Hey,
I went out the hill today to get my pass set up early for this season and I saw a freind who works in the shop. He showed me these ski's made by Rossignol called "Free ZB 2". Apperently the guy who ordered them in decided he didn't want them so he offered them to me for $200 (CDN), seemed like a really good deal for them.

Now I get home to do a little research to see what I bought. I can't find any sites in English that even make mention of them. All the sites are in Russian, and there not even listed on Rossignol's site. Any one know what the deal is on these?

Even if anyone could forward me to a good ski forum so I could ask there.

Oh, and here's a pic: http://www.manaraga.ur.ru/snar/lisi/Rossignol.files/FreeZB2.jpg

Thanks,
Justin S.

Thanks for having a look but none of those sites mention those actual ski's just some of Rossignals other ones. I spent an hour with goggle and I couldn't find anything in english. The only thing I can think of is that they go by another name in North America, even though they have the name "Free ZB 2" writen on them.

Well, they look cool:)

I only get to go skiing for 1 week per year in Colorado (I live in Iowa), so I can't be of much help.

Yeah, they look pretty cool (expecialy in real life). Supposedly the guy who ordered them in was going to pay $550 CDN but of course no one else would pay that much for a pair of ski's they never heard of so I got them cheap. I managed to translate one of the pages and it said somthing about them being designed by the russian ski team. Not sure if that's good or bad. :D

I'm not a skiier, but let me poke my head in, again.

Hit the slopes and try them out. If they feel good all is fine.

I'd hit the slopes but my bases would be gone in about 5 minutes flat. We don't have snow here for another 2 months. :)

I'm sure they'll be fine though. I put all my weight into them trying to flex them and they flexed just as a good pair of freestyle skis should.

I'm just wondering how durable they are, the edges seem tight, but the tops seem a little soft. Also wondering what the cores are made out of, they feel a lot like wood, but I'm not sure.
