Ok this is my problem... i only have PCs, and i occasional do tech support for people with Mac OSes over the phone. And i'm not familiar with Macs. So what i've been doing, is using walkthroughs and stuff to help them... which can be a pain. What i want is something simliar to VMware, where i can load up any Mac OS i need, when i need it, quickly, and use it to guide them through troubleshooting and such.

For example of how i have my systems set up atm... on my PC, i have VMware loaded with every single Microsoft OS... if i'm dealing with a user that's using Win2k, all i need to do, is perform a couple of mouse clicks, and Win2k loads in literally a few seconds... and i can use it to walk my clients through their problems (i've been doing this for so long i can do Win98 and WinXP in my sleep, and don't even need to load up those OSes). Once i'm done, i can close Win2k, and help my next customer, who might be using a Win95 machine. And it takes literally seconds to switch OS.

Is there any thing similar for Macs? Is it at all possible to even do those in an x86 machine (currently i'm using Linux... i know Mac OSX is based off Linux, so maybe there's hope...)?

And Mac OS X is not based on Linux. In fact, I doubt there is any Linux code in the system.

I think PearPC is still the only available option.

Wow, exactly what i was looking for, thanks!

Yeah, it's awesome albiet still slow-running. There's a way to get network, sound, and native CDrom access now though, which is cool. :)
