I finished watching The Wire and after GOT need something else to watch as well. Heard that Breaking Bad might be worth it.

in the vein of uniform dramas, The Shield and Rescue Me.

Breaking Bad is always a solid recommendation -- the only people I know who haven't liked the show are just people who don't like dark shows or shows where you have to somewhat pay attention to the screen.

The Shield, and The Chicago Code.

Though in the case of The Chicago Code it was cancelled, unfortunately, in the first season.

The Shield was excellent - multiple story lines, very entertaining. Pay attention, I don't think anything is ever dropped/forgotten.

Another show you might enjoy, though not in the same realistic cop drama category, is Life On Mars, the UK version.

I have to check out Luther, it's been on my list for a while.

have you seen Luther?

I haven't watched it myself, but I've heard great things about it (it's a bbc cop drama, iirc)

I actually just finished Luther. Well all three seasons. Its not that long considering its british and only 6 episodes for s1 then like 4 for 2 and 3. Its good and S1 was my favorite. Definitely worth a watch
