Hello,

Amazon and newegg have had the RVD3MIX2-FHPX4-480G 3 X2 Max IOPS drive listed for about 6 weeks now. I was curious if anyone knew when they were shipping.

not sure. I would go ask that question over at the mfgrs forum. They would know more about that product than anyone else.

Tried that OCZ is horrible about responding. Someone said they'd get back to me last week - I've replied 2 more times and still no response.

you used the less desirable method for getting info then. The forum would have many more knowledgable early responders who know more than the folks who answer the phones anyways.

register over there when the forum comes back online(maintenance right now) and Tony, Ryder, or Praz will help you out.

I had no trouble when I had to RMA my Vertex2, and the forum members were quick to respond and as helpful as anyone could reasonably expect.

To be clear, I did post on their own forums which are frequently down. Someone from OCZ responded on their own forum that they'd get back to me about a week ago - still no response. http://www.ocztechnologyforum.com/f...3-Hybrid-OCZ-Ibis-HSDL-support-and-discussion

"frequently" is definately the wrong term to use. "Recently".. sums it up much better as I spend my share of time over there testing their hardware and helping others and it's not usually a common ocurrance at all. Send a PM to RyderOCZ and he will tell you what he can.

FWIW.. I also asked the same question in the Revo section for you as well. If I had to guess.. they should have wider distribution in the next month. There are others around the net who've found some aloready so it's possibly got something to do with the distributor network and maybe even last minute firmware refinement.revision. Just a guess though based on past experience with that company.

Thanks - I guess to be more precise, it has been down frequently recently :) I consider down for maintenance, down. It has been down 7 times in the last 11 days.

I hear ya and it's all just symantics of course.. but I have taken a break from that forum for the last several weeks so you'd propbably know better than I as of late.

Maybe they're using the newest beta-firmware on their server's SSD's? LOL

Can't be openly joking like that too much.. or I'll get no new OCZ drives to test.

I hear ya. Have you gotten on of the MIX2's to test yet? Someone posted that they got one from Newegg but then it sounded like the person from OCZ who responded thought they must have gotten their hands on a sample/test batch even though it came from Newegg.

No Revo3 MI for this guy. I don't have that much clout.. or time.. to test like a few others over there.

The OCZ forum seems to be running smoother now so maybe post back again and ring the bell once more. I'll try and get info from my end and post back here to let you know what I hear.

Sweet! I've posted the question in three spots on the OCZ forum. So far, no takers.

LOL.. I was just coming back over to tell you in case you didn't see the response over there right away.

Here's the quote from Ryder for any other's interested.
Revo3 MaxIO ships in volume this week.

Revo3 x2 MaxIO is still 2-3 weeks out in volume.

Happy Hunting for that beast of a drive. And I have to say.. I'm not usually the envious type.. but I surely do envy anyone running one of those for a system drive. Makes my 6 drive R0 Sandforce based array feel.. inadequate. lol

I don't have enough experience yet to say if there would be any noticable difference "feel" any difference but if you have 6 drives I would imagine you have great striping and you could always get better reliablity by having so many drives. Either way it beats standard drive configs :)

I've had mixed results on the Revos. They are fast, they aren't always reliable and their customer service is really bad. I'm hoping things have changed but I'll find out. Fortunately Amazon has a better return policy than Newegg for the OCZ stuff.

It looks like they've been delayed. Newegg now only has one model listed and they've pulled the estimated ship date. Amazon cancelled my order even though I had about 20 days left (30 day order period).
