Just was wondering if it makes any sense to buy a P4 3.06 processor now? Are the 800MHZ FSB processors with HT supposed to come out next month? If the 800MHZ FSB processors are coming out next month, then I think I'll wait.

The Prescotts are coming out in the next month (or two). You can get a 2.4GHz, 800FSB, HT, 1MB L2 for only $163 or so after Intel cuts prices. :)

The Prescotts won't be out for a while.

The new processors coming out with 800MHz FSB and HT during April are souped up Northwoods.

Look for a VID C1 stepping P4 and chances are you'll hit the 3ghz barrier easily and 3.4 is within reach.

Don't buy it now.. It won't worth the money.

I bough today a p4 2.4 533mhz and with no effort at all, in my Gigabyte Ultra2, bus 667mhz and voila.. a P4 3.0 ghz

I will make some test firts to see its stability, and then I will try to see how much this baby can do.

Not bad for a 150? cpu :)

Just get a 2.4/2.53 multi vid C1 and save $400 bucks.

Most are doing 700Mhz+ anyway. ;)

any place selling the vid C1 P4's that I can buy from (I mean, that they would likely not send me a B0 stepping)? I am looking at the 2.4-2.66 Ghz range.

Fry's B&M and Outpost.com (ie: Frys online)

EDIT: You know that it is the luck of the draw if you don't see the stepping with
your own eye's. I have two 2.53 SL6S2 C1 Multi VID's from Fry's but I checked each
one before I left the store.
