Any "Safe" way to sell a laptop online anymore ?

I have one I need to get rid of, but as I read alot has changed since I sold the last one.

I was thinking about putting it on Craigslist for cash only / local pickup first, but then if it dosnt sell, throwing it on ebay shipped US only to verified Pay Pal.

Should I accept MO's ? It seems like you can't after you read about all those people having banks reverse them weeks after they have "cleared"

What about Escrow ? I have never had any problems with it, but I have read about some new scams involving this practice now.

Any other advice?

Within the last month I have sold 5 laptops on eBay and took Paypal on all transactions. I build all of the fees into my asking price & shipping costs.

1) Become Paypal verified
2) Edit your eBay account preferences > buyer requirements > enable all of them
3) Require immediate paypal payment on your listing
4) Do not ship outside the continental USA and state that in your listing
5) Ship to a confirmed Paypal address using a trackable carrier and insure the pkg.

Now you get Paypal seller protection + you've shipped an insured package.

Buyer requirements

Block buyers who:
Are registered in countries to which I don't ship
Have a feedback score of -1 or lower
Have received 2 Unpaid Item strikes in the last 30 days
Don't have a PayPal account

I wish you could block people with less than 10 feedbacks 😛

Good advice guys, thanks.

How about Escrow ? Do you guys offer at the buyers request, or flat out deny it ? I only used it once on an old sony laptop. It went through ok, it just took a little longer to get my $$ than I would have liked.

Accept USPS MOs and cash them at the Post Office before shipping out. No reversals can occur after you get the money in hand.
