got back into running and love it...started back up on 12/29/04. Been doing lots of 2 mile runs in my neighborhood, has great hills. But with this snow here in MD, my running has been put on hold a little bit. Any other runners?

I'm on my high school's track team. The Brooklyn Tech Engineers. I pole vault, hurdle, and run the following events:

1000M
600M
200M
55M
55M HH

This is only for indoor, which has some of the weirdest race measurements. Come outdoor, everything should be in multiples of 200M.

I'm sorta-starting...man I'm out of shape though. I can walk for hours and hours, but can't run for very long at all.

Starting back up is always the hard part, I struggled my first day running but after a couple days of short 1 mile runs i was feeling it all come back...pole vault huh? I bet thats pretty fun stuff.

Sooooo nice living in Florida...the land of eternal summer. I'm still running outside in the afternoons. Lately I've been mixing a little on the track and a little on the sand each day. I can usually get in 2-3 miles then I have to leave and get to other things. Being in the Air Force is the best motivation I've ever had to not quit or skip running every other day.

Nope, after four years in the Marines, I now only run if someone REALLY big and REALLY pissed off is chasing me.

Kinda like when I was in the Marines. ;)

lucky TL being in FL, i like* MD to run also though. I wish I could play some Soccer right now, indoor right now obviously due to the weather. Maybe Tennis is something I should try, never really thought much of tennis though.

In school, we practice in the gym so we have to keep the height below or at six feet. At meets, we go as far as the best vaulter can. I'm only a Freshman with a few practices under my belt, so I can only clear 7'8. To give you some perspective, the record is 17'7, and a vaulter (Senior) at one of my meets was clearing 11+.

For me, it's only a side thing. Sometimes I just use it as an excuse to get out of a hard workout :). I'm much, much better at hurdling, sprints, and some mid-distance(the 600M and the 1000M).

I'm a runner. I ran track and xc in high school, and now do the same for my college. My goal this year is to run every single day. So far, so good! It's sucked lately, being -10 and all, and I have to run at night quite a bit, but I must say I do get a certain pleasure out of running in the bitter cold. It's fun, actually. I refuse to let any sort of weather stop me from running. Man over nature, you know :p I'm just about go for a nice 7-10 miler during my lunch break, actually.
