My great aunt has an oil painting with two of my dunno-how-many-great grandfathers standing next to Tzar Nicholas and his family. One was a personal guard and the other was a either a general in the Russian army or a swordsmith for the royal family or both. If my family didn't flee Russia during the revolution in fear of their lives and the revolution hadn't happened, I'd most likely be serving the Russian royal family.
