i hate narrow minded music people.

all thoes bands are "talented"

ps. i think tool sucks hard

first of all, tool doesn't suck. in fact, there's more raw talent in one member of tool than in your entire pool of bands, and this is coming from someone who actually likes some of your bands and owns their albums. i bought taking back sunday's album the first week it came out, nearly two years ago, but i have no delusions that they even approach tool in talent. thursday has potential but it has yet to be realized and as long as they record with Sal Villanueva it never will. midtown has the ability to write a good tune but the music is lost in the hubris and fashion, and record label problems. brand new are good but they'd be better without the smiths influence and if they learned to play their instruments. AFI are alright but nothing special. and those are the good bands you listed. i won't even bother listing why the others suck.

Narrow minded? How about musically inclined? These wannabe "punk" bands are just no talent ass clowns playing the same 3 power chords for the intro, verse, bridge, and chorus. Tool and A Perfect Circle both own any "punk" band you can name.

musically inclined, perhaps. but the fact of that matter is that the general public doesnt care how good one single guitar player is in a band.

comming from a promoters stand point, the bands that i listed would do well almost anywhere in america. the "talented bands" are better than the ones i have listed, but they wouldnt do as good. tool however, would sell out.

sorry for looking at music from the promoters stand point, but it has been my job for a while now. as a promoter, if i think the band totally sucks ass, but will sell out, i have to bring them to my venue, becasue it is good for business.

Didn't know you were looking at it from that view point. I still wouldn't call them talented though. Able to draw a crowd? Yes. I see nothing but teenage girls walking around all the time with Good Charlotte or Simple Plan shirts on. But fact of the matter is, those no talent clowns come and go so easy. Bands like Tool that are unique and have "talented" members are not easily replaced. Only a few of these pop "punk" bands will stay around. Good Charlotte only because MTV shoved their asses down our throats. These one hit wonders have their 30 seconds of fame and fade off into oblivion.

Rufio
Maroon 5 (I met them in sf)
Death Cab for Cutie
Guster
Home Town Hero
Lucky 7
Midtown
Off By One
The Juliana Theory
Starting Line
Yellowcard (their new cd is kick ass)
MxPx (their new cd is not as good as prior ones)
Thrice (they are an ok band)
- All these bands kinda sound the same except Death Cab which is much more mellow, more on the coldplay/dashboard mixture. The ones in bold are the most radio friendly type groups, all in all they are emo bands.
