I saw some in Fry's the other day. Virtually no center hub so airflow in the center should be better, but has anyone used one or seen a good review?

I'm curious about airflow, noise and lifespan.

"Tip Magnetic Drive" or TMD fans. No center motor.

I've read a few threads about the Aeroflow, but I'm more interested in the fan than the heatsink.

I've had two Aeroflows with the TMD fan. The combo works well, quite well... but... Had to go for the SLK800U to cool my 2800+ Barton though. Using the TMD fan on it as we type. Works very nicely. Case is an Antec 835II if memory serves... Couple of fans up front and backside also. Sound is not an issue, you can hear airflow happening. Haven't tested the TMD fan idependantly but it's not overly loud by any means. Temps are currently at Mobo @ 28c, CPU @ 41c, Diode @ 45c. The other TMD fan I had is now cooling my son's 2400+, and doing nicely.

Been using one for 6 months, not too loud--you can hear it running, much like the noise from an 80mm case fan. Kept my oc'd xp1600 at around 48c ( stock at 166fsb it was about 42c, was running it at 176fsb)
Only issue I had, motherboard was reading it as a variable speed fan and didn't like it plugged into the mobo ( Epox 8K9A3+) so I plugged it into the 12v harness.

I'm using the 74mm TMD on my SLK-700, it's very quiet, yet seems to cool the hs perfectly fine.
