Any reviews on thin & light notebooks?

I'm currently looking at a Sony V505A Series, but I want to see how it stacks up to other notebooks. I'm almost abuot to go with Dell's thin and light: 2.9lbs and .8" thin, compared to sony's 1.32" thin and 4.34lbs. The Sony does have much better specs, though. It's a tradeoff i suppose.
 
Those computers are almost in the ultralight categories. Thin & lights tend to have 14 inch screens and an optical drive. You can always go CNET for reviews. They don't make very arguments for or against a notebook, but they have a lot of pictures and observations.
