Any reviews of the Asus 9600SE/TD?

Here's a review.

Judging by the review, the 9600SE looks very, very slow--slower than a 5200 as often as it is faster. I'm not sure you'd be able to game well at above 800x600. The fact that it comes with HL2 included in the price is nice, but I think the card is too slow to be easily recommended. Your call, though--the benchmarks are there, you can see if you consider the 9600SE's framerates playable or not.

A 9600 with 5200 performance..
Yup. That?s where I pegged it too.

That looks like misleading advertising by ASUS to me (or just a typo). According to that info on their site the memory interface is 128bit. But only 2 (double sided) memory modules means 64bit memory interface. The digilife article says SE is 64bit and the performance says 64bit too.

They'll give you hl2 with it? What is the point of giving you the game with a card that can't run it? So you'll go out and buy another card?

Best Buy Sunday Circular...

Radeon 9600se 128 = $130
Radeon 9800pro 128 = $300 after rebates

Both come w/ free HL2 when available

The 9600se box looks like built by ATI but I don't see the 9600"se" at ATI.com...seems strange
