Any replacements for GameSpot.com?

I've looked around and maybe it's right under my nose, but are there any good substitutes to GameSpot.com since they've gone to the "Pay for Content" style? I know it's been awhile since they've switched over, but I haven't been in the need for reviews, news, etc on PC games and video games. So any suggestions?

ign is worse, they have even lesser free content than gamespot, and with ign the max # of media you can view (screens or videos) is 5 or something per day for the whole site, not including the sub-sites before it kicks you to a subscriber access only page

you can try xengamers.com

i usually surf messageboards since the stores and pics/vids get posted or linked by someone.

I agree with Gamespy. Don't know much about them but I was really impressed with their E3 coverage of PC Games.
