Question Any recommended modem for Comcast?

So, probably over a decade ago, I got tired of monthly modem rental fees, and bought a modem. I also use it for internet phone, and the modem wouldn't do that, and so I was just out the money and forgot about it.

So, thousands of dollars later, I'm thinking, buy a damn modem. Comcast just said buy an "EMTA" modem to do both the internet and phone. Any suggestions on a particular modem for this?
 
Here's Infinity's starting page for determining what are approved modems. I've done it before (a couple of times), it was remarkably easy to do each time. I don't get my home phone through Infinity-I used to use a regular modem with the OOMA hardware attached to my router, but I got rid of the home phone a couple of years ago because 90%+ of the calls were spam calls.

After you get some ideas of comparable equipment, I suggest googling for reviews and/or checking out the reviews on Amazon.

Thanks, I have no idea about Comcast Gigabit or DOCSIS 3.1. I already have a router set up (which the rented modem might use).
 
You don't know if you have Gigabit internet service? What does your internet bill say your speed is? What do you get from Speedtest.net?
 
I've had good luck with my 1150v so far. Expensive but probably the best option for 1gig net plans and voice.

Check out the dslreport.com forums too, lots of good advice there.
