Any recommendations on sandals for men?

I'd wear sandals everyday if I could. They're easier to slip on and off obviously, and they're more comfortable than regular shoes.

That said, it's hard to find a pair that looks good. I'll admit, I often wear a pair that I've had for almost five years. They're incredibly comfortable as they're broken in, but people keep giving me nonsense about it since they're falling apart :)

So, any recommendations? Something clean enough to wear with a nice pair of jeans, and something that looks good with shorts as well. Something that is better for the feet than a pair of flip-flops. Doc Marten used to make a pair that I thought was incredibly comfortable.

Thanks...

Alps for heavy use. But, the little guy who made Alps in Sonora, CA was bought out by Teva. So I'd have to say Teva.

Birkenstock, Arizona model. I think I paid $100.00 shipped for my last pair.

Thanks guys.

I can't believe I forgot about Birkenstocks. I used to have a pair of them many years ago, a time when the new hippy movement seemed to sweep across high-schooldom.

Yeah birkenstocks ftw. Cortina brown leather is a pretty awesome "style" of birk. Classier than the nubuck IMHO.

I have a pair of Doc Marten sandals that are great and have held up quite well for the last two years. Got them on ebay from Shoebacca for something like $30-40. Thanks to the nice winter we've been having so far, I'm still wearing them :)

I like Rainbow.. they guarantee the sandals for the lifetime of the sole. And, I was totally sick of them ripping apart on me.

My gf convinced me to get a pair of Rainbow when my Reefs fell apart.. and I wore them to my last 2 years of college classes and I am still wearing them in evenings and on weekends.. I've worn them so much the leather on the top is wearing through.. but they still hold together like champs.

Ecco makes some very nice sandals, and MOST of them are NOT made in China. (a big criteria for me)

I'm a big fan of Chacos. They're more expensive, but I've had mine for 4 years with no problems.

I have some from Clarks. They are good. I wear sandals 99% of the time. Some girl told me I was crazy a few days ago because it was freezing outside.

No self-respecting man would ever wear sandals. I have yet to meet a chick that likes sandals on men. Take that as a hint.

Where do you live? If you're anywhere where it gets cold in the winter, you're the guy that I call an idiot for wearing sandals in the winter when I see you at the mall :)

I'll take that as a hint that you need to meet some more mature women ;)

Atlanta. To me, cold is ~40F and below. I'll wear sandals at any other temperature, generally about 50% of the time.

I just wear the $20 reef sandals and they are great. I used to have a pair of rainbow sandals but they didn't justify the extra price over the reefs.

Word. I've also been a big fan of TEVA. They last forever.

Birkenstocks are the sh1t. I've had the same pair for almost 6 years. They are all torn up with holes and so comfortable.
