Any recommendations on free forum software?Or sites that host small community forums?

just want one where i can do PMs, insert photos, add sigs and all the normal forums stuff available here but for free

there is phpBB, v Bulletin & Invision. I use Invision Power Board. I think its great. 🙂

Im pretty sure v Bulletin is free or they have a / free version. I'm not 100% Postive on that though.


check out the forum in my sig, its not really active right now.........it will be shaped up and stuff when my main site gets running.

IF it is gaming related and you have a clan that you want hosted let me know and I'll host you on Gamemecca.net for free. Can even make you private forums that ony you and your members can see.

You can try to post a request here

you might find a host that will provide you with a plan in exchange for banner ads or something.

Invisionboard is great. I had problems with my database when I set up phBB, but InvisionBoard worked perfectly right away.

I've installed a couple, and prefer Invision Power Board as far as the free ones go. I'm used to vBulletin, but I'm not paying for a license. I use a couple of hosts. http://www.dixiesys.com and http://www.e-rice.net
