Just moved into a house, TV reception sucks w/ my indoor amplified (RCA) TV antenna.
Only 1-2 channels clear.

I'm too cheap to get cable (basic is like $15/month + tax brings to about $21, just for local channels).

Any recs on getting a TV dish antenna, or roof mounted antenna? There are coax cables just outside garage ready to be hooked up to a dish. What to get for basic TV reception?

Prolly will cost me 150, no?

Hook up a coax cable to your antenna input, and then an alligator clip on the center conductor of the other end. Works better than any ghetto powered antenna I've ever seen/had.

I've had good results with an aerial in the attic with an antenna mounted amplifier. Mounting the amp on the antenna boosts the signal before it gets attenuated over the length of cable to the set.

Our wall unit is set up against a wall that has a double door behind it that leads into a storage room. Said room has another entrance, so nobody cares that the door is blocked. It just so happens that the door opens to the rear of the television. Back in the day, when I wanted to watch OTA TV I used to hook the TV to a coax that was soldered to the (LARGE) abandoned 0-gague train layout. I got nearly cable quality reception with an antenna that huge.

I think I'm going w/ the channel master 3016 & mount it in my attic. Looks like Lowes may have this model locally so I can get it down the street. Only about 35 bucks...
