Any recommendation for a scanner for full color artwork reproduction?

Title says it all. I have some artwork that I want to scan that will end up in a book that is going to be published. What scanner would you'll recommend?

Is this a one-time project, or something you will expect to be doing on a regular basis?

If it's a one-time project, you will probably get the best quality and color accuracy by sending these scans out to your local service bureau. To ensure the highest quality, they will need to know what type of paper/ink/press will be used for the print run. So the bureau you select will ideally be the same company that will be assisting with the actual publishing of the book.

Good luck.

It'll be regular.

budget is more than likely going to hamper this.

press/production quality at full/high color is expensive.

Most 'artwork' will be larger than 8x10. Many times a large format will be required if scanning for print production work. Around $2500 is sort of entry level.
