I have never made kabobs on the BBQ and was thinkign of trying them this holiday weekend.

Any one have recipes and suggestions for preparign marinated and BBQing them?

marinate them for a few hours and slap them on the grill.

1 1/2 c. salad oil
1/4 c. Worcestershire sauce
2 1/2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. ground pepper
1 clove garlic, crushed
3/4 c. soy sauce
2 tbsp. dry mustard
1 1/2 tsp. parsley flakes
1/2 c. wine vinegar
1/3 c. fresh lemon juice

Whatever meats and veggies you like. There are no rules. Onions, green peppers, cherry tomatoes, apple slices, pineapple cubes....

My tip for you is this:
Although it looks "cool" to arrange assortments of veggies and meat on each skewer, they will cook better if you put just meat and just veggies on the skewers. That way if one thing finishes first, you don't have to overcook everything else on the skewer.

For presentation purposes, you can always reskewer them, but I usually pile everything on a serving plate and go from there.

if you use wooden skewers, soak them in water before you start.

yeah try to use metal ones, even tho they get hot.

use both steak and chicken to keep everyone happy. Buy a bunch of peppers, green, yellow and red and a bunch of white onions. Then get some cherry tomatoes and start puttin everything together. They sell racks for kabobs so you can put the skewers on the rack and the meat doesnt touch the grill and its easier to rotate the skewers.

Touching the grill is the best part though!

I use the same vegetables as listed above. Marinate the meat first, then soak the skewers in water for about 30 minutes, while you are cutting up the veggies and meat. Take the skewers and put the stuff on in any order you would like. I like to take the left over marinade and brush it on the food while it is cooking, but do not do this when the food is nearly done cooking, or you will have raw meat all over your kabobs.

Get some Release foil grill covers. They are non-stick with holes in them, and really thick. Works great.

If you use wooden skewers, soak them in water first so they don't burn up immediately.
