We have a basic operations job available and we want someone who just recently graduated college in the San Diego area. The job basically will consist of operations work with linux servers, apache, mysql, php, etc.

Nothing super advanced, and pretty much low level stuff but a good way to get your foot in the door at a company. Not so much a programming position, but mainly operations/low level sys admin stuff.

Does anyone fit that bill? My boss is killing me because all he can find on monster are people with 8+ years experience whom we don't want.

Anyone?

Damn, I'm not a college grad yet, but I'm sure there are dozens of people here who'd take your offer in a jiffy. Bump for 'ya. Sounds like a fun, easy job.

I'm sure you will find someone. You might want to post in the job networking thread.

I posted in the Unemployment thread as well.

And actually I am shocked. I keep hearing about how nobody can find a job, but it appears to only be the high end people. I sent this open rec to my old college professors who then forwarded it literally to 100+ people who just graduated. I received maybe 2 resume's, and both said they wanted to be programmers.

I guess most CS graduates want to be programmers now adays... now that has got to be a horrible job to try and find right now or in the forseable future..

Darn, where were you when I was looking for a job last year? Now that I'm in grad school and have only a year to go for my Masters, I just can't quit. Oh well, post again in a year if the job is still open. :)

Unfortunately this job will probably be filled by the end of the week, or beginning of next week. We have to fill it ASAP, even if it means hiring in someone way over qualified with the likelyhood of turnover. And for the life of me I can't find any recent grads looking for a job!
