any reccomended backup/sync applications?

I have several computers, two of which i consider my "main" rigs. I almost always backup documents I'm working on to a flash drive or something of the like - but I also have a server runing raid 5 (and an external backup of specific files) that I'd like to utilize if i can.

Are there any applications that I can run on either client/server, or just the client to copy files in directory x to directory y on the server, and sync them? I have tried using the built in appliction for windows xp and it never seems to work right. I also don't need to sync all the time, i want it to sync when I tell it.

I've gotten pretty good with .net so maybe i can writeup my own but I figure there has to be something out there like this.

I don't remember the name of it but Maxtor had a utility included with one of their USB drives. It was a real PITA to setup though. I never liked it but maybe it would work for you?

thx blue - hated robocopy when we used it at client sites then again we were using it to sync several hundred gigs of data, and copying everything, even if nothing changed so that could've been part of the problem. (they insisted against all of our reccomendations that we did it that way..)...but i suppose it DOES meet my needs....I'll checkout the other two you suggested.
