My wifes year old X60 8 cell battery suddenly died last night. One day it was working fine, the next it said the battery had experience damange and needed to be replaced. Not sure what happened only it puts her in a bind.

Needless to say I don't want to pay the $180 lenovo is asking for a replacement so I'm trying to find out if there are cheaper options out there. Anyone have any advice for a replacement battery?

Batteriesplus just lists a phone number when I look for this battery so I have not called them yet.

Thanks!

Wherever you end up buying them from, make sure the company is reliable as well as their product. Also check the manufacture date of the battery. They start losing power after a couple of year even when not in use. Also check the charge cycles, I think thinkpad has preinstall software that provides that information. You don't want a used battery with a high number of cycles on it already. I believe it just counts the number of times it's been charged. It's stored in the battery.
