if your asking should you pick up another 2 sticks... then im gonna have to say no.
It really depends on if you require that much ram also.

But when i build systems typically i recommend getting 32gb x 2 sticks instead of 16 x 4.
But again, do you really require all that ram?

I bet not even 70% of the average gamer / pc users will require more then 32gb, unless you have like a really bad case of ADHD and need to have over 100 chrome windows open with more then 30 instances of youtube on top.

Since you already have the system pretty much up and running, I would use task monitor to see how much memory is being used during what you think is the most demanding uses you expect.

If it's more than say, 24 GB, buy more memory. Otherwise, save your money for a bottle of good whisky and some decent cigars, then enjoy your new machine.

I'm doing the final tweaks on my system and was wondering if there would be any reason to get more ram. I currently have this kit.

Uh, if you need it, then yes. Otherwise, at least on AMD, tuning memory timings with 4x sticks is a PITA compared to 2x. If you don't screw with memory times, aside from XMP or whatever your motherboard calls it, then it doesn't really matter.

I went from 32GB 3200 to 64GB 3200 and noticed no appreciable difference. Game server client I run feels a little snappier but no specific numbers to talk about.
32GB should be fine for a while.

So far, and since 2014, I have been using "extra" RAM to cache SATA and even NVME drives.

But with the latest 4th-generation NVME drives -- 1TB costing under $100 -- it doesn't seem necessary. On the other hand, if my initial inclination was to buy a kit of 2x32GB = 64GB, I will probably do it. I'm not so eager to make upgrades later on, if it turns out I might need more of this or that.

I didn't think I needed it but posted to see if there was something I wasn't thinking of. The bench marks I saw showed maybe 1-2 fps bump in gaming with 64GB but nothing you would even notice. Also, it would be 4 sticks and I have read 2 is better for optimization. I have XMP in my BIOS but haven't looked into it yet.

If you have Task Manager running (or Process Explorer, which shows stats for a longer duration than Task Manager) during the task that you think is demanding a lot of your system, then you can check for example the RAM usage (Process Explorer also breaks the RAM usage down into physical RAM usage and commit charge). If it's not hitting say 90%, you don't need more RAM.

If you think you're getting low on RAM while gaming, try the above and alt-tab out of the game to check the figures. If you're running out of RAM partway through a gaming session, I'd expect to see a drastic frame rate drop all of a sudden.
